This is the traditional Derby Day cocktail, and a southern ritual crafted from bourbon, sugar and mint.

- 2 parts Woodford Reserve
- 8 to 10 Mint leaves
- Superfine sugar
- Powdered sugar
- Pellet ice
- 2 Mint sprigs to garnish
Muddle 8 to 10 mint leaves (smacking optional), two barspoons of superfine sugar, and two parts Woodford Reserve Bourbon in a Mint Julep cup with a scoop of pellet ice. Top with more pellet ice, forming the telltale dome above the rim. Garnish with two mint sprigs and powdered sugar.
