Wearing White & Sky Blue

BridesSkyBlue, opened in mid 2010 and is one of the hottest places to kick back in Park City, Utah. Located inside The Sky Lodge, the venue is quickly making a name for itself. The Lodge’s large deck space overlooks the Old Town District, offering hotel guests and locals a chance to sit by the fire pit and enjoy the city’s view, especially during the cigar and whiskey pairing nights. But for SkyBlue, it doesn’t stop there. The catering and event managers came up with the Bridal Party promotion. On opening night, they invited female guests to wear their old wedding gowns and/or bridesmaids’ dresses. Though the biggest challenge was getting men to show up, in the end, it was a fun, light-hearted night, especially for the women.

“With this event, The Sky Lodge gave ladies an excuse to wear their wedding gown or bridesmaid’s dress again,” offers General Manager Dorcas Beck, adding that the more than 30 guests who came to the event decked out in their wedding attire, received free glasses of Champagne or non-alcohol bubbly.

The Sky Lodge also offered a variety of packages and deals for guests who wanted to make a weekend out of the event. For example, the “Massage Your Way to a Free Room” promotion allowed those who booked a $199 per-person massage, based on double occupancy, to enjoy a one-bedroom suite, including complimentary breakfast for two the next morning, making it one wedding event no one wanted to miss.
