NEW YORK - Independent family distiller William Grant & Sons has been honored with numerous awards at the prestigious 2011 Ultimate Spirits Challenge in New York, including two highly coveted Chairman’s Trophy accolades. The awards, which recognized the company’s portfolio of super premium spirits for their pioneering nature and superior quality, further establish William Grant & Sons as one of the leading players in the premium spirits sector.

At the awards, the William Grant & Sons portfolio, which includes such highly acclaimed brands as Glenfiddich and The Balvenie Single Malt Scotch Whiskies, Hendrick’s Gin, Tullamore Dew Irish Whiskey, Sailor Jerry Rum and Stolichnaya Vodka, performed extremely well, receiving a staggering 36 accolades, including 17 ratings of 90 (“Highly recommended”) or higher. Of these, the new limited edition Balvenie 17 Year Old Peated Cask and the soon-to-be-introduced Lillet Rosé were awarded with the Chairman’s Trophy, in the Single Malt and Aperitif categories respectively.

The results of the Ultimate Spirits Competition contribute to the lengthy list of accolades awarded to the William Grant & Sons portfolio since the company’s inception in 1887.
