Howl at the Moon will open its 15th location in the Boston Financial District this July. The Chicago-based dueling piano bar has been around for 20 years ago and has operations in cities including Orlando, Fla., Hollywood, Calif., Chicago and San Antonio. Howl at the Moon features novelty cocktails such as 86-ounce buckets of alcohol beverages and oversized Jell-O injectors. Mark Kuller is opening Estadio, a 115-seat restaurant in Washington, D.C.’s Logan Circle area featuring contemporary Spanish cuisine. The wine list approaches 300 labels and an Enomatic machine will dispense 16 temperature-controlled wines by the glass, many priced under $10. The cocktail menu includes frozen alcohol slushies, traditional claras, porrons and Bar Manager Adam Bernback’s take on Sangria. The space has a contemporary Spanish aesthetic resembling 19th century Spain with tiles, marble and wrought-iron custom-built communal tables. San Diego nightclub Stingaree now features the outdoor event Ritual on Thursday nights. Every Thursday, the nightclub transforms its rooftop into an oasis with two 16-foot Buddhas, new VIP cabanas with blue, green and cream shades on the back walls, built-in booths, décor, landscaping and a new lighting system of stratus-shaped bamboo lighting pendants and tiered Capiz shell chandeliers. After a winter hiatus, mad46 in New York City’s Roosevelt Hotel unveiled its new indoor space. It has retractable glass windows, convenient bar access inside and is accessible from the 46th Street entrance at the back of the hotel. An exclusive elevator takes guests directly to the lounge. There are minimal furnishings and two expansive indoor areas that offer views of the city. The cocktail menu at mad46 includes the Mad Mojito, finished with a white-chocolate stick and shaved coconut, and the espresso Teddy-Tini, named after Teddy Roosevelt. Opening June 17 is The Parlour Room of Hollywood in Los Angeles, owned by Craig Trager of NoBAR, El Bar, The Well, The Woods and The Fifth. The Parlour Room has booth seating and a 20-foot-long white marble bar and bar rail. Antique bottles line the backbar, and the outdoor brick patio has its own bar and fireplace. The cocktail menu consists of classic recipes such as Blood and Sand, along with more modern drinks, including The Maple Julep (bourbon, mint and maple syrup), The Parlour Trick (Ciroc Coconut Vodka, fresh lime juice, sugar cubes muddled with fresh kiwi), which changes seasonlly, and its $5 Martini.
