Kohler Distributing Company is a second generation family business that started from humble roots when Andy and Irene Graham purchased the Kohler Distributing Company in 1947. From that small business – selling 50,000 cases annually – Kohler has steadily grown into a 5.8 million case, $110-million, 174-employee, 60-truck operation that ranks in the top 50 beer wholesalers in the entire United States.
Kohler’s growth through the years has been a result of hard work, attentive service, great brands, foresight, and a little bit of luck. Furthermore, the company’s advancement was continued without skipping a beat when the second generation – Gary and Scott Graham – took control of the company when their father retired in 1983.
“I’m excited—this has been a long time coming,” states Peter Damato, Business Development Manager. “The guys [John Merklin and Brian Ciriaco] have a phenomenal product and it’s great to have a local brew with a lot of potential.”
Aspiring to become a pillar of industry at the Jersey Shore, two local guys are realizing their dream, despite the economy, and fueling their love of craft beer and the Jersey Shore. It’s in the Haus!
