CHICAGO - December 2010 – Crown Imports is partnering with the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA), to promote responsible consumption of alcohol over the holidays and reminding Chicagoans that the public transit system is an excellent option for their transportation needs. The partnership encourages people to enjoy all that the city of Chicago has to offer for good times with family and friends, and reminds people to plan ahead for these celebrations by taking the CTA.

“We encourage people to celebrate responsibly and safely during the holidays, as they gather with friends, family and co-workers,” said Jim Ryan, Executive Vice President, Crown Imports. Representatives from Crown Imports are distributing full fare CTA cards to revelers in various Chicago bars, taverns, and neighborhood accounts throughout the holiday season.

The Chicago Transit Authority is the second largest transit system in the nation. The CTA has been running since 1947, providing 1.7 million safe rides for Chicagoans daily. Information on train and bus fares and schedules can be found online at

“We appreciate Crown Imports encouraging the use of public transit. People who try it will find that the CTA is a convenient, safe and affordable alternative to driving all year round,” said Veronica Alanis, Vice President of Business Development, CTA.
