In a spirits industry dominated by corporate-owned vodkas, which buy distilled vodka in bulk, Chopin has built a small but loyal following by distilling its own vodka in small batches with no additives. Chopin introduced the luxury vodka category to the U.S. market in 1997 with Chopin Potato Vodka in its distinctive black labeled bottle. Now, red labeled Chopin Rye Vodka has been turning heads and winning over new fans across the country, as it rolls out in initial markets including: Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, and Texas.
The introduction of Chopin Rye Vodka is part of an aggressive strategy by the family-owned brand to build on the popularity of its "single ingredient" vodkas, as it takes on larger corporate players. Plans for a third variety of Chopin Vodka are already in the works for a U.S. debut in late 2011.
