Buffalo Wild WingsBuffalo Wild Wings named James M. Schmidt to the newly created Chief Operating Officer position. Schmidt has worked at Buffalo Wild Wings since 2002, and in his new role Schmidt is responsible for day-to-day operations for the 739 units; he will report to President and Chief Executive Sally Smith.

 


National Restaurant AssociationThe National Restaurant Association’s new officers, Sally Smith, Chief Executive and President of Buffalo Wild Wings, Rosalyn “Roz” Mallet, President and CEO of PhaseNext Hospitality and Phil Hickey, Jr., Chairman of O’Charley’s Inc., took their posts on the NRA board. Smith is the Board Chair, Mallet is Vice Chair and Hickey is Treasurer. Sally Smith will present the Industry Keynote during the VIBE Conference


The FDA is withdrawing its draft of guidelines on federal menu labeling regulations originally issued in August while it works on the final rules, which won’t be published until later this year. The FDA stated March 23 is the target date for proposal of regulations.
