Breakthrough Sales Report

How are sales? That’s the question on everyone’s mind these days. Throughout the recession and now that we’re officially in recovery, according to Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, operators of bars, restaurants and nightclubs have been watching their sales figures like hawks. They’re also looking to see how everyone else is doing as a barometer of the marketplace and as a way to discover new opportunities. Other than anecdotal accounts, however, current broad-market on-premise drink sales data has been non-existent.

Until now. GuestMetrics has cracked the code for on-premise drink sales data, and we at Nightclub & Bar are proud to bring you the first of many exclusive special reports on current sales trends based on actual point-of-sale data. This report includes sales data from 2,800 bars, nightclubs and restaurants in six major metro markets, reflecting drink sales trends from January to June of this year.

Check out our report on page 36 or online at Then, look for the next installment in our December issue, when we’ll bring you figures on third-quarter sales trends.

This on-premise data is truly cutting edge, and we bring it to you as part of our goal to help you achieve The Best in Bar Management. Let us know what you think of this report and what interests you for future reports. In the meantime, raise a toast to the recovery!
