Boston Globe: Hadleyas Paul Kozub honored for vodka entrepreneurship in Vegas

Paul J. Kozub, a Hadley resident who looks to be to vodka what an uber chef is to highbrow cuisine, was selected as one of three winners of the “Entrepreneur of the Year” award at the 2013 Nightclub & Bar Show recently held in Las Vegas.

Kozub was cited for his work with his company, Valley Vodka Inc. The company markets a product called V-One Vodka.

In this case, Kozub hopes what happens in Vegas doesn’t stay in Vegas. That’s because he’s seeking to get wider exposure for V-One Vodka.

“This is our first event outside of the New England Market, so I was thrilled to be recognized on a national level,” Kozub said in a statement. “The Nightclub & Bar Show is the largest of its kind, with over 900 exhibitors. We are very humbled to be chosen out of this elite group of companies.”

The show’s Entrepreneurs Program is an opportunity for new companies to be recognized for innovation.

According to Valley Vodka lore, Kozub perfected his V-One recipe in the basement of his Hadley home with a budget of $6,000. That recipe is now distilled at a spirits facility in Poland. The vodka is made solely from 100 percent organic spelt wheat, a rare and precious grain.
