A special bourbon cocktail inspired by mixologist Joy Perrine from Jack's Lounge will lead off the reception for "A Salute to Women, Wine and Whiskey," a five-course dinner created by executive chef Laurent Géroli held at the Brown Hotel in Louisville, Ky., in late March. Chicago’s burgeoning cocktail scene now has The Exchange Bar in the Wicker Park area. The cozy bar offers 12 cocktails crafted by former Sepia bartender Peter Vestinos, as well as punches served in vintage bowls. Drinks include the Exchange, employing Death's Door vodka and a pineapple-hibiscus-tarragon soda from Chicago brewery Half Acre. Smoke + Mirror is made with tea-infused tequila, lime juice and egg whites.
