In late May, organizers of the National Restaurant Association Show and the International Wine, Spirits & Beer (IWSB) Event crowned Las Vegas’ Nathan Greene the Star of the Bar at IWSB’s After-Party at Rockit Bar & Grill in Chicago. Greene took home the top prize along with $5,000 for his winning cocktail, the Bacardi Kiwi Berry Serenitea.
“We congratulate Nathan for the style and flair of his presentation, creating a standout cocktail that was a delight to watch and taste,” David Gilbert, COO of NRA, said in a statement.
To compete in the event, participants submitted 90-second YouTube videos showing them creating signature cocktails with at least one Bacardi product. Judges named six semi-finalists, who flew to Chicago to showcase their cocktails at the IWSB Event. Finally, three finalists competed in the final round at IWSB’s after-party.

In addition to Greene’s monetary prize, his cocktail recipe and photo will be published in an upcoming issue of American Airlines’ American Way magazine, and Rockit Bar & Grill featured his drink on the menu until the end of June.
The 2010 NRA Show took place at McCormick Place in Chicago May 22-25, with IWSB held in conjunction with the Show on May 23-24.
