Cocktails That Will Work For YOU

Every year, on the first Monday of September, we celebrate the social and economic achievements of the American workers. This national holiday tributes the contributions workers have made for the well-being of our country and their families. So, this weekend take a load off and give yourself a pat on the back while enjoying one of these delicious Labor Day inspired cocktails.

Cucumber Watermelon Cooler

1 1/2 oz. Smirnoff Sorbet Light Lemon
3/4 oz. Lemon Juice
1/2 oz. Agave (if needed)
2 Slices of Cucumber
4 Chunks of Watermelon
Perrier Pink Grapefruit Sparkling Water, to top off
Garnish: Cucumber Slice

Muddle watermelon and cucumber in a mixing glass. Combine all ingredients except sparkling water, add ice, shake, strain over fresh ice into a highball glass. Add agave if desired for a sweeter taste. Top with Perrier Pink Grapefruit Sparkling Water and garnish.

1 1/2 oz. Bombay Sapphire
4 Bing cherries, pitted
8 blueberries
3/4 oz. simple syrup
1/2 oz. fresh lemon juice
Club soda

In a Collins glass, muddle the cherries and blueberries in the lemon juice and simple syrup. Add Sapphire and ice and stir briefly. Top with club soda. Garnish with a Bing cherry and slice of lemon.

Early Riser

1 1/2 oz. Ron Abuelo Añejo
1/2 oz. Jumbie Coconut Splash
1 oz. fresh mango juice
1 oz. pineapple juice
Maraschino cherries and orange slices, for garnish.

Pour ingredients into an iced filled shaker. Shake vigorously and strain into a tall glass. Garnish with maraschino cherries and orange slices.

Early Riser

Sweet-Lyee Ginger
Created by Alex Straus, Suite 700 at the Hotel Shangri-La, Los Angeles.

1 1/2 oz. SKYY Infusions Ginger
1 1/2 oz. lychee puree*
4 mint leaves
1/2 oz. fresh lime juice

Muddle three of the mint leaves in a cocktail shaker to release oils. Add the rest of the ingredients to the shaker with ice and shake vigorously. Strain into a cocktail glass, and garnish with remaining large mint leaf.

*To make lychee puree, purchase a can of lychees in light syrup and blend well.


American Dream
Created by EFFEN Vodka

1 1/3 oz. EFFEN Black Cherry Vodka
3/4 oz. Dekuyper Peachtree Schnapps Liqueur
1 1/2 oz. Organic Apple Juice
1/2 oz. Lemon Juice
3 Basil Leaves
In a mixing glass, combine all ingredients and shake with ice.  Strain into a tall glass over ice. Garnish with cherry and peach slice.

All-American Beauty

1 1/2  oz. SKYY Vodka              
1 oz. Freshly Squeezed Meyer Lemon Juice
1/2 oz. Simple Syrup
3 Meyer Lemon Peels

Muddle lemon peels, lemon juice, and simple syrup. Add the vodka and ice. Shake and strain over fresh ice cubes. Garnish with a twist of lemon.
