Fetzer Wine’s Earth Day 2010 Chardonnay
Fetzer Vineyards is celebrating 25 years of earth-friendly winemaking with the release of its limited edition Earth Day Chardonnay, featuring a new label by artist Anne Kessler, which captures the California landscape. Fetzer also is donating $10,000 to Leave No Trace, an organization dedicated to responsible enjoyment and active stewardship of the outdoors. The bottle will be available at the beginning of April 2011.
2008 Lake Sonoma Winery Zinfandel
The 2008 Lake Sonoma Winery Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel is a forward and fruit-driven wine with spicy complexity. The Zinfandel, a combination of Dry Creek, Zinfandel and Petite Sirah comes from the Dry Creek vineyards. Grapes are aged for 18 months in small French and American oak barrels and have aromas of blackberry, blueberry and spice with hints of mint. The blackberry and blueberry flavors add subtle notes of spice and pepper, contributing to a balanced and lingering finish.
2008 Kenwood Vineyard Merlots
Kenwood Vineyards releases its 2008 Kenwood Vineyards Sonoma County Merlot and 2008 Kenwood Vineyards Jack London Vineyard Merlot, a blend of grapes aged for two years in French and American oak barrels. The 2008 Kenwood Vineyards Sonoma County Merlot has aromas of blackberry, cigar box and baking spice, which complement raspberry and blueberry medium-bodied flavors. The 2008 Kenwood Vineyards Jack London Vineyard displays ripe plum and blackberry fruits, with notes of mocha, espresso and clove. The flavors are plum, black cherry, clove and mint, which culminate in a delicate finish.
2009 Valley of the Moon Pinot Noir
The 2009 Valley of the Moon Winery Carneros Pinot Noir is sourced in the thin-soiled Carneros region of Sonoma County and aged for 10 months in French and Eastern European oak barrels. The Pinot Noir has aromas of Italian plum, red cherry and violet, accented by smoke and vanilla. The red fruit flavors dominate the palate, with hints of spice undertones. It has a lithe, velvety taste and culminates in a balanced and lingering finish.
