VIBE Conference Adds New Programming to 2016 Lineup

SAN DIEGO – This year, the 2016 VIBE Conference introduces new programming to its two-day conference for chain beverage executives and supplier partners at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront Jan. 19-20, 2016.

Attendees will have access to four workshop series featuring a variety of tastings, research sessions and discussion panels. In addition, VIBE features an innovative keynote session with former CEO of Southwest Airlines Howard Putnam as well as two research presentations, a consumer trend session with Next Level Marketing Founder Mike Ginley and a session on factors hampering adult beverage growth with Technomic, Inc. Vice President David Henkes and Associate Principal Donna Hood Crecca.

Workshop Series One

  • Applying Insights and Analytics to Strategic Beverage Plans with Patrick Kirk, Buffalo Wild Wings – The session provides key tips for developing successful strategic beverage plans.
  • Satisfying Our Thirst for Beverages with Warren Solochek, NPD – The presentation explores how the beverage market has evolved and provides insight on how to drive beverage orders.
  • Palate Trips and Craft Beer Pairing with Julia Herz and Adam Duyle, Brewers Association – Attendees will discover what food elements best compliment craft beer selections.
  • Pre-Batching for Success: Cocktails-on Tap, Bottled and Modern Blended & Frozen with Kathy Casey, Kathy Casey Food Studios & Liquid Kitchen – A tasting demonstration on pre-batching bottled, blended, frozen and on-tap cocktails.

Workshop Series Two

  • Annual VIBE Beverage Consumer Trend Monitor with Mike Ginley, Next Level Marketing
  • The American Whiskey Experience with Heather Greene, Author – Operators will experiment with bourbon, rye and single malt during the tasting session.
  • Maximizing Opportunities within the Hotel F&B Segment with moderator Dave Henkes, Technomic, Inc. – Leading lodging operators discuss how beverage trends are impacting the lodging sector and how to succeed in the segment. 
  • Using Mobile Technology to Harvest New Forms of Consumer Beverage Trends with moderator Paul Saper, Sponsiv Digital, Inc – Operators will learn about three mobile beverage platforms that report consumer beverage trends.

Workshop Series Three

  • Crafting a Winning Beer List: How to use beer styles to maximize efficiencies and return with Stephen Beaumont, Beaumont Drinks – The series also provides operators with tricks and tips for maintaining a successful beer list.
  • Driving Beverage Alcohol Productivity by enhancing relationships between suppliers and operators with moderator Tom Fox, CM Profit Group – A joint panel of operators and suppliers explore ways to improve efficiency and productivity between both tiers.
  • The Luxury Malt Class with author Heather Greene – Operators taste luxury malts from Scotland, Japan, Ireland and other countries around the world.
  • What’s Old is New with Madeline Triffon, Plum Market – Attendees compare classic and new wines during the blind wine tasting.

Workshop Series Four

  • Award Winners Do You Play to Win – Or to Not Lose? Secrets Of Their Success! with moderator Stan Novack, Sammy’s Beach Bar & Grill – A panel of this year’s VIBE Vista award winners discuss their winning programs.
  • Annual VIBE Beverage Consumer Trend Monitor with Mike Ginley, Next Level Marketing
  • Dare to Drink Different with Evan Goldstein, Full Circle Wine Solutions, Inc – Operators try unique wine pairings during the tasting session.
  • The Five “W”s and one “H” of Nutrition Labeling and Alcohol-Where Are We Now? with moderator Joan McGlockton, National Restaurant Association – The panel discusses the issue of FDA nutrition labeling with a strong focus on beverages.
