Since its opening in the summer of 2009, AVENUE has played host to celebrities like Madonna, Johnny Depp, Scarlett Johanssen, Jude Law, Kate Hudson, Fergie, Lady Gaga, Marc Jacobs, Ashley Olsen, Katy Perry, Jack Nicholson, etc. The innovative team behind; PH-D Rooftop Lounge at Dream Downtown, LAVO New York, Las Vegas’s star studded TAO restaurant/nightclub and Marquee Nightclub & Dayclub among others, created the AVENUE hospitality concept. AVENUE is a well-appointed venue that combines great food and exceptional service in a fun, relaxed lounge setting with a chic and exciting nightlife experience, whether guests arrive at 10:30 p.m. or 2:30 a.m.
Located in New York City’s trendy Chelsea neighborhood AVENUE is tri-level with a full kitchen serving gourmet “cocktail cuisine,” specialty drinks and an extensive spirit, wine and Champagne menu. The vintage-style boite is rich in design offering a portal into the old world glamour of turn of the century watering holes. Guests enter through massive wooden double doors into a luxurious classical living room infused with modern elements. The space, designed by Lesly Zamor of the design firm Seed, is layered in spontaneity with “wow moments” around every corner. Worn leather banquets, outfitted with drawers and plush ottomans that open for guests to keep their coats, line the 2,500-square-foot main room. A state of the art sound system is discretely camouflaged behind oak and cork paneling perfectly merging functionality and aesthetic.
Vaulted ceilings are adorned with repurposed wine barrel chandeliers imported from Belgium and the glass railed staircase, which connects guests to the two mezzanines, creates a voyeuristic playground for revelers below. Dual intimate spaces await patrons at the top of the stairs. A smaller drawing room which sits 25 people frames the main DJ stage to create a feeling of a private club one would find in a Hollywood Hills manse.
The glassed-in larger room for 100, which features a DJ booth with separate sound system and two private bathrooms, resembles a social parlor with an eclectic array of tufted leather furniture and a small old English style library bar. AVENUE, located at 116 Tenth Avenue in New York City.
