Louisville Steakhouse to be Featured on Cooking Channel Show
Kix Brooks, one half of the legendary country duo Brooks & Dunn, is setting out across the U.S. in search of America’s best steakhouses. He is bringing his love of entertainment and food to TV as the host of Cooking Channel’s aptly named, Steak Out. This week, the show features notable steakhouses from Chicago and one a little closer to home -Louisville’s own, Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse.
Restaurateur Jeff Ruby is thrilled about the appearance. “Any time you get noticed it’s a great thing. To be included with other terrific steakhouses and have someone like Kix, for whom we have great respect, recognize us as one of his favorites, that’s really special.”
Brooks is certainly qualified to know what it takes to run a great steakhouse. Following a lifelong passion, he recently became more than just a connoisseur and opened his own local steakhouse in Shreveport, LA. "It doesn’t matter where you are in the country, steakhouses are in every small town to big city," said Brooks. "I really think that local steakhouses say a lot about the personality of their community, so this show was a great way to get to know a few towns and their people better over a great steak dinner and a glass of wine."
“We really appreciate Kix and the Cooking Channel including Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse in Louisville in the show,” said Britney Ruby Miller, Director of Operations. “Considering how well he knows this business, we’re flattered he took the time to speak with us and show his fans what a great quality product we deliver.”
The episode of Steak Out with Kix Brooks featuring Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse airs on The Cooking Channel Sunday, November 2 at 8:00 PM and November 7 at 10 PM.
