deadline extended for inaugural u.s. national wine competition
The Vineyard & Winery Management Group has announced that entries for the inaugural U.S. National Wine Competition will be accepted until March 19.
The competition recognizes excellence in wines produced in any U.S. state, welcoming all native, hybrid and vinifera varietals grown. Rob Merletti, CEO, Vineyard & Winery Management Group, adds, “U.S. winemaking reflects our country’s fascinating and unique melting pot make-up. And this competition is dedicated to recognizing excellence in every area.”
Chief judge Gerald D. Boyd leads a panel of experienced wine professionals who come from a variety of disciplines including winemaking, wine sales and marketing, wine journalism and wine education. Riedel glassware is used to judge all of the wines.
A partnership with Bottlenotes, the premier online community for wine enthusiasts, will give winners direct-to-consumer exposure. Bottlenotes has 250,000 registered users, more than 25,000 Twitter followers and more than 65,000 Facebook fans.
For online entrants only, Bottlenotes will:
• Direct 100% of revenue associated with any purchase generated by Bottlenotes back to the winery.
• Post award winners on Bottlenotes.com.
• Place a flag icon next to all award winners on Bottlenotes.com.
