VeeV Açaí Spirit Releases First CSR ReportApril 8, 2011
Los Angeles, CA – VeeV Açaí Spirit, a leader in the superfruits spirits category and the first eco-friendly spirits brand in North America, has released its first CSR Report after just three years in operation.
The report supports the company’s longstanding eco-conscious and socially aware business practices, including:
Packaging created from recycled and eco-friendly materials
Planting more than 15,000 trees in monsoon-ravaged countries through their “TREEtini” program
Donating more than $150,000 to green, non-profit and charity events
Investing more than $100,000 in the Rainforest through the Sustainable Açaí Project
The difference according to founders Courtney and Carter Reum is that VeeV started early, sometimes at the expense of operating capital, with their $1. per bottle program.
Now in its fourth year of business, VeeV has already has considerably reduced the carbon footprint in every aspect of their business – beginning with themselves and bringing their employees and suppliers into the business of green and corporate responsibility. In fact, 40% of VeeV employees drive hybrid cars or choose to travel on public transportation everyday and is the first carbon neutral spirit.
