Giving ThanksNovember 19, 2009 By: Emily Hanna Mayock
After all the stress of readying the house for guests, stuffing turkeys and finishing up that green bean casserole, your guests will need a break — with a cocktail in hand. This Thanksgiving, say “thanks” for their patronage with the Turkey Day-themed cocktails below. Plus, we’ve even got a recipe to help your dizzied and distressed guests relax after their busy Black Friday shopping day.

1 ounce TY KU Sake
½ ounce cranberry juice
1 ounce TY KU Liqueur
2 ½ ounces apple cider
Mix all ingredients. Rim the glass with crushed graham cracker and garnish with an apple slice.
Created by Phil Ward.
2 ounces Flor De Caña 7-year-old Grand Reserve
4 sugar cubes
3 ounces club soda
2 whole cloves
1 pinch of fresh grated nutmeg
1 ounce lemon juice
2 ounces Fuji apple juice
2 dashes of Peychaud’s Bitters
Dissolve the sugar cubes in 1 ounce of club soda (this generally involves muddling to help the process). Muddle the cloves with the sugar cubes, and after the sugar cubes and cloves are muddled/dissolved, add the rest of the ingredients one at a time and stir as added. Add ice once all of the ingredients have been added and stirred; stir the punch until it is chilled. Strain the punch into a glass or punch bowl, depending on the size of the portion. Top with 2 ounces club soda and garnish with apple slices and cinnamon sticks.

½ ounce pear brandy (Adam recommends Massenez Williams Poire Brandy)
½ ounce fresh lemon juice
2 dashes Fee Brothers Aztec Chocolate Cocktail Bitters
Shake all ingredients well and strain into a highball glass. Top with ginger beer and garnish with a cinnamon stick and lemon peel.
