It’s time to celebrate! As of this afternoon, the NFL lockout is officially over. The NFL players inked a final deal today that, once the majority of players ratify it, would officially end the lockout just in time for training camp. This has been a long time coming, especially for bars and restaurants that depend on the NFL season for weekly promotions and events. For example, Buffalo Wild Wings started its Save Our Season Facebook petition this summer to sway the NFL to end the lockout. The excitement about the saved NFL season is pervasive. Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar response to the news, albeit succinct, seems to encompass everyone’s feelings with a mere “Cheers!” stated in the company's press release. What’s more, with the NFL season back on, so are many important promotions for bars and clubs throughout the country.

In some cities, restaurant owners are banning young children. Recently, Mike Vuick, Owner of McDain’s Restaurant and Golf Center in Monroeville, Pa., banned children under the age of 6 because they disrupt other customers while they're eating. Seventy-four percent of Pittsburgh-area residents agreed with Vuick, and he’s not alone. Other restaurants across the United States have taken measures to ensure unruly children wouldn’t interrupt or interfere with other diners.
