Pretty in Pink

When the calendar turns to fall, it’s time to "Think Pink." October, after all, is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and for savvy operators, planning a promotion around a good cause like this not only helps attract new patrons to their bar or club, but also shows off a philanthropic and altruistic side of the business. Support this good cause by adding a couple of these delectable pink drinks on your menu throughout October and donate some (or all) of the proceeds to a breast cancer foundation. A delicious cocktail that benefits a good cause? Patrons will have a hard time saying no to that.

Strawberry Cinnamon Whiskey SourStrawberry Cinnamon Whiskey Sour

1½ oz. Maker’s Mark
½ oz. fresh lemon juice
½ oz. fresh lime juice
1 oz. simple syrup
1 oz. Island Oasis Strawberry Puree
Strawberry, for garnish
Cinnamon stick, for garnish

Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass. Shake with ice and strain into a Collins glass over ice. Garnish with a strawberry and cinnamon stick.


Blood Orange SourBlood Orange Sour
Created by Kim Rosselle of Flora in Oakland, Calif.

1½ oz. pisco
1 oz. pür•likör spice, blood orange liqueur
¾ oz. lemon juice
½ oz. honey
½ oz. egg whites
Cinnamon, for garnish

Shake all ingredients vigorously without ice for a few seconds. Then open the cocktail shaker, add ice and shake vigorously again. Double-strain the ingredients into a coupe and sprinkle with cinnamon.


Violetta

2 oz. pür•geist sloe
½ oz. dry vermouth
1/8 oz. crème de violette
2 dashes absinthe
Lemon twist, for garnish

Combine ingredients in an ice-filled mixing glass. Stir and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a lemon twist.


Ladies’ Night

2 oz. Bols Genever
1 oz. Mathilde Pear Liqueur
Dash of Peychaud’s Bitters
Lemon, for garnish

Strain into a Martini glass. Express lemon and twist for garnish.


Pomegranate & Ginger

1 oz. fresh lime juice
1 oz. simple syrup
½ oz. Perfect Purée Pomegranate concentrate, thawed
½ oz. fresh grated ginger
1 ½ oz. Corzo Silver Tequila
Ginger ale
Lime wheels, for garnish

In a mixing glass, muddle lime juice, simple syrup, Perfect Purée Pomegranate Concentrate and ginger. Add Corzo Silver Tequila and ice. Shake and double strain to remove ginger into an ice-filled tall glass. Top with ginger ale and garnish with lime wheels inside glass.


Raspberry GanacheRaspberry Ganache

2 oz. Sobieski Raspberry Vodka
½ oz. heavy cream
Splash of grenadine

Shake ingredients. Serve in a chilled sugar-rimmed Martini glass.


Bacardi Arctic Grape MojitoBacardi Arctic Grape Mojito

¾ part fresh squeezed lime juice
¾ part simple syrup
10 mint leaves
1½ parts Bacardi Arctic Grape
1 part cranberry juice
Club soda
Lime wedge and mint sprig, for garnish

Muddle lime juice, simple syrup and 10 mint leaves in a serving glass. Fill glass with ice. Add Bacardi Arctic Grape Flavored Rum and cranberry juice. Stir ingredients and top with club soda. Garnish with lime wedge and mint sprig.
