2014 Recipe File: Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer making it the most common type of cancer found in women. This disease is also the second leading cause of death of women.
Breast cancer is a serious illness amongst women and any type of recognition about the cause is helpful. Help raise awareness this month at your bar by serving pink cocktails. Also consider donating a portion of your profits to breast cancer research to help stop this killer!
1 oz. Campari
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and dry shake. Add ice and shake again. Double strain into a martini glass and garnish with twist of lemon or orange.
1 oz. Sweet Revenge
Serve on the rocks. Optional sugar on the rim and lemon wheel for garnish
1.5 oz. SKYY Infusions Citrus
Combine ingredients in shaker. Pour over ice, garnish with strawberry.
1½ oz. MARTINI Rosso vermouth (chilled)
Combine first 2 ingredients with ice in a shaker. Shake and strain into a chilled champagne flute. Top with MARTINI Prosecco. Garnish with pomegranate seeds to float on top.
Cotton Candy Cosmo
½ oz. X-Rated Fusion Liqueur
Place cotton candy in a martini glass. Pour other contents in the shaker with ice and shake until well chilled. Pour over the cotton candy.
Malibu Spiced Melon
1 ½ oz. Malibu Island Spiced
Add all ingredients to the blender. Add 1 cup of ice. Blend until smooth. Serve in a hurricane glass.
1 ½ oz. Avión Reposado
Combine all ingredients into a shaker excluding the all spice. Shake and strain into a glass over ice. Sprinkle all spice on top. Garnish with sprig of thyme.
1 ½ oz. SKYY Vodka
In an empty shaker glass, pour SKYY Vodka, Campari, Grapefruit Juice and Honey Simple Syrup. Add ice to shaker and shake. Open shaker and add Rosé Cava. Strain over fresh ice in a Collins glass. Finish with sliced grapefruit and a pinch of hibiscus and rosemary infused Himalayan Pink Salt.
