Nancy Curry was named vice president of national account sales for Southern Wine & Spirits of America, Inc. Previously, she was director of national accounts in the California division. Her appointment comes as Southern Wine and Spirits embarks on a new organizational structure for its national accounts division.
Diageo announced Lynn Walding as its new executive director, control states. Walding previously worked as the administrator at the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division. In his new position, Walding will report to Guy Smith, executive vice president, corporate relations, and Ken Lane, vice president, state government affairs, to support Diageo’s social responsibility, responsible drinking and corporate citizenship activities within the control state community. Walding also will be a part of the leadership team under Mark Hubler, president, control states.
With the release of “Sex and the City 2” last weekend, T.G.I. Friday’s announced it will offer “Sex and the City 2” inspired cocktails for a limited time. The drinks are: The Park Avenue Princess (SKYY Infusions Citrus vodka, lemon and lime mix, Sprite and topped with Cabernet Sauvignon) and Glamour Gal (SKYY Infusions Citrus vodka, Cointreau, cranberry juice and lemon and lime mix). SKYY is the official sponsor of the “Sex and the City 2” movie.
Patrick J. “P.J.” Stapleton III, the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board chairman, was named chairman-elect of the National Alcohol Beverage Control Association at the group’s convention on May 17. Stapleton is currently on NABCA’s Board of Directors, and in his new role he will be responsible for assisting the chairman with industry and state relations while helping with the management of board affairs.
Kristen Phillips was announced as the division marketing manager for North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia at Pernod Ricard USA. Before working at Pernod Ricard, Phillips was the Whiskey Category Manager at Beam Global Spirits & Wines.
MillerCoors hired Doreen McCarthy as its new national account sales manager. McCarthy was previously at Pepsi Cola as the regional account sales manager.
