SpotSync Checkout Alpha Released! SpotSync Provides a Cloud-based, POS Solution for Retail, Quick Service and Restaurant Franchises
SpotSync LLC, based in Laguna Hills, Calif., has announced that the company is seeking alpha sites for its revolutionary, Point of Sales (POS) solution that’s designed to help retail, quick serve restaurant and restaurant franchise owners quickly realize profits without major cash outlays. SpotSync Checkout tracks sales, manages inventory and enhances customer service by giving franchise owners reports about what products are selling and what customers really desire.
According to Michael Fitchett, CEO, “SpotSync Checkout is unlike any other Point of Sale application available today. For starters, the entire application is less than 7MB and runs entirely in your browser. There is nothing to download.” He adds, “Just by accessing the site, you have cached an entire local copy of the application that can now be run while offline. When online, any changes you make and any changes that are made elsewhere are bi-directionally synced.”
When users are connected to the Internet and are using SpotSync Checkout, changes are instantly updated across all company locations and registers. For example, how would a company with over 1,000 locations, with three registers at each location, add a couple of new drinks to the Quick Service menu? Before SpotSync Checkout, the business would have to write its own custom nightly polling application, or send out a notice to every store manager, informing them of the new products and having them update their registers. The process is easy with SpotSync Checkout - simply modify the menu and the changes will instantly be pushed up to the SpotSync cloud and down to each individual register in real-time.
Key product features of SpotSync Checkout include:
All of the data that each location generates is pushed up to the SpotSync “cloud”. The cloud is a collection of replicated living databases that are backed up, cleaned and indexed for better performance - and then backed up again. SpotSync also provides users with an optional small utility app that can be installed to create a nightly backup of their local database.
Security is critical, especially when sensitive data is added to the equation. That is why SpotSync Checkout encrypts sensitive data like passwords and all data that is passed to and from the client, using SSL 256-bit encryption.
•VISA, MasterCard, American Express (AMEX), Discover, Debit, Gift Cards
Accepting credit cards, debit cards and gift cards is as easy as swiping a card while in the Tender screen. SpotSync Checkout has partnered with Mercury Payment Systems to provide customers with quick, efficient and reliable service. SpotSync Checkout supports pre-authorization, partial authorization, voids, returns and more.
SpotSync Checkout takes advantage of Mercury's E2E (end-to-end encryption) in order to eliminate PCI protection requirements. Some of today’s most malicious software is designed to steal credit card data from peripherals, such as magnetic card readers and keyboards. By instantly encrypting swiped or manually keyed card data, information that is skimmed by malware is rendered useless because it can only be decrypted by Mercury. E2E helps merchants achieve PCI compliance since encrypted data is not considered card data, and SpotSync Checkout never stores, processes or transmits cardholder data. The merchant’s liability to protect transaction data inside their network is thereby reduced.
•Works Online & Offline
SpotSync Checkout is a web-based application that continues to work while offline. All data is being stored locally so changes that users make inside of the system are being pushed up to the cloud and then sent back down to other registers in real-time. Because each client has it’s own copy of the database, there is no single point of failure.
SpotSync Checkout enables users to save money and the environment by eliminating unnecessary paper waste. Every time a customer needs to print, a paper-free alternative, such as emailing, sharing, or exporting, will be presented.
•Computers & Tablets
SpotSync Checkout was built utilizing HTML5 technologies, which means that the same application can be run on all operating systems using Google Chrome or Apple Safari. This includes Apple iOS and Android based tablets. Phone support is soon to come!
Best of all, SpotSync Checkout allows customers to use the latest features, without the hassle of maintenance and upgrades, for a small monthly subscription.
