the taste of tequila
Tequila is a versatile spirit and is a great addition to anything from Margaritas, Mojitos and any recipe you can conjure up. With new iterations - anejo, reposado, silver, agave, just to name a few - entering the fray every day, now's the perfect time to add some of them to your backbar in order to create some refreshing and delicious concoctions.

1 ounce Cazadores Blanco
1 ounce lemon juince
1 ounce St-Germain Elderflower liqueur
½ ounce Lillet Blanc
½ ounce Hum Liqueur
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker over ice. Shake well and strain over ice. Garnish with lemon twist.
On the menu at Xino in Santa Monica, Calif.
1 ½ ounces Don Julio Blanco
½ ounce lemon juice
½ ounce ginger syrup*
1 ½ ounces blueberry juice
Pour the tequila into a Boston shaker. Cut one lemon in half and, using a lemon squeezer, squeeze half of a lemon, the fresh house ginger syrup and the blueberry juice into the shaker and shake vigorously. Pour into a Martini glass, and garnish with a fresh peeled lemon twist.
*House Ginger Syrup: In a large pot combine the water and the lemongrass leaves (lemongrass should be at same height as water level). Bring to a boil and let cook for 20 minutes. Take the pot off of heat and strain the lemongrass from the water. Discard the lemongrass. Add the water back to the pot and add the sugar (fill greater than or equal to water level). Bring to a boil and let cook for 5 minutes. Strain and cool.
Sobieski Raspberry Rascal

2 ounces Sobieski Raspberry vodka
½ ounce tequila
Shake well. Serve on the rocks.
Passion Fruit Paloma

1 ½ ounces reposado tequila
¾ ounces Monin Passion Fruit Syrup
1 ½ ounces pink grapefruit juice
½ ounce fresh lime juice
Combine ingredients in shaker in the order listed. Cap and shake vigorously. Pour into serving glass. Garnish.

2 ounces Herradura Silver Tequila
1 ounce triple sec
1 ounce guava puree/Ncectar
1 ounce fresh sour mix
Served up or over ice. Garnish with a lime wheel.

1 ½ ounces Tequila Distinguido Anejo
¾ ounce peach brandy
Splash raspberry liqueur
½ ounce lime juice
Add ice and ingredients to shaker. Shake well and strain into an ice filled Champagne flute. Garnish with fresh raspberries and a peach slice.

1 ½ ounces Tequila Avión Añjeo
1 ounce apple flavored liquor (can use apple juice from concentrate)
¼ ounce. pear juice
Splash of egg white
Dash of fresh lemon
Pinch of ground cinnamon
In a shaker, add all ingredients over ice. Shake and strain. Can be served straight up or on the rocks. Garnish with a thinly sliced pear.
Feliz Navidad Mary

1 tsp. Montreal steak Sseasoning, ground
1 tsp. silantro leaves
1 ½ ounces tequila
6 ounces Tabasco Bloody Mary Mix
1 ounce Corona
3 dashes Tabasco brand Chipotle Pepper Sauce
3 dashes Tabasco brand Green Pepper Sauce
2 Lime wedges
In a shaker place the lime wedges, Montreal steak seasoning and cilantro and muddle all together. Add remaining ingredients and fill with ice. Cover, shake and pour in large glass. Garnish with green and red fried tortilla strips with a green onion stalk or cilantro and a chili dusted tomato wedge on the edge.

Fever tree ginger beer
Hand pressed lime half
Chili salt lick rim
Serve over cracked ice and garnish with jalapeno.
