Courvoisier Cognac Presents “The Le Nez Experience”
Deerfield, Ill. – September 1, 2009 – Beam Global Spirits & Wine, Inc. [Fortune Brands, Inc. (NYSE:FO)] and Courvoisier Cognac, one of the world’s leading cognac brands, will bring the Le Nez de Courvoisier Experience to consumers for the first time in major U.S. markets this fall. Le Nez de Courvoisier (“The Nose of Courvoisier” in French) enhances the cognac tasting experience by focusing on the sense of smell, which drives taste and creates a greater and deeper appreciation for the highly aromatic, lightly oaked and well balanced style of Courvoisier.
Previously, this sensory experience was exclusively presented to VIP guests who visited the Courvoisier Chateau in Jarnac, France. Le Nez de Courvoisier was first brought to U.S. beverage trade members in 2008 and will now be presented to the U.S. consumer.
The three-city tour of esteemed cocktail destinations in New York, Chicago and Atlanta will elevate consumer understanding of The House of Courvoisier’s unparalleled quality and uniquely aromatic style. Courvoisier national brand ambassador Stephanie Mills will guide the blindfolded participants through the Le Nez de Courvoisier aromas and identify just a few of the signature aromas in two outstanding Courvoisier marques: Courvoisier XO and Courvoisier Exclusif.
“The Le Nez de Courvoisier Experience engages the senses and educates the consumer about Courvoisier, making them passionate brand fans,” said Kim Washington, director of luxury brands, Beam Global Spirits & Wine, Inc. “We introduced the Le Nez Experience as a new way to savor Cognac. Le Nez de Courvoisier will instill the passion of Jarnac, the home of Courvoisier, while exploring the distinctly delicate aromas and superlative taste of Courvoisier with the consumers.”
The Le Nez de Courvoisier program shares the greatness of Courvoisier that has existed throughout two centuries. In 1869, Courvoisier was named “Purveyor by special appointment to the Court of Napoleon III” and is still known as “Le Cognac de Napoleon.” To this day, Courvoisier is the only cognac house to receive the Prestige de la France – France’s highest award for excellence for a French wine or spirit. Courvoisier remains true to the same exacting standards introduced by its founders nearly 200 years ago.
