Thomas Hooker’s Irish Red Ale
Just in time for St. Patrick’s Day, Thomas Hooker Brewing Company releases its Irish Red Ale, which is available through April. The Irish Red Ale is a traditional style red ale, ruby in color and malty in body, featuring more than seven different malts. It gets its deep ruby color from a hearty amount of chocolate malt and English hops.

Top Sail Bourbon Barrel Porter
After aging for almost a year in oak bourbon barrels, Full Sail’s Top Sail Bourbon Barrel Porter is now available. The imperial-style porter was reserved and aged in casks from Maker’s Mark, Stranahan’s and Four Roses. It is deep black in color and has deep chocolate flavors that warm to a full-bodied beer with oak, toast and caramel flavors. The 9.85 percent ABV beer is available in 22-ounce bottles and limited draft.

W’10 Pitch Black IPA
Portland, Ore.’s Widmer Brothers Brewing introduces its 2010 Brewmasters’ Release: W’10 Pitch Black IPA, part of the W’ Series that introduces a new seasonal beer style every year. W’10, which won a gold medal at the 2009 Great American Beer Festival, is brewed with generous amounts of hops and a modest amount of specialty debittered black malt to create its dark appearance. It offers a peppery, citrusy hop aroma and flavor and has a medium body built on caramel malt sweetness and lightly toasted malt.
