Michael Mondavi family sells Carneros properties to Kieu HoangJune 9, 2014
The sale of the Michael Mondavi winery and vineyards in Napa Valley's Carneros region, announced June 5, involves a 100,000-case-a-year wine-making facility at 1285 Dealy Lane in Napa, according to the brokers/consultants who helped buyers Kieu Hoang and his RASS Corp. on the transaction. They are John Bergman, of Bergman Euro-National real estate brokerage, and Robyn Bentley of Pacific Union International.
The Michael Mondavi family, part of the Napa Valley elite, has sold its Carneros winery facility, vineyard and tasting room to the Kieu Hoang Winery Napa Valley, owned by American business executive Kieu Hoang, Mondavi officials said Thursday. Financial terms weren't disclosed.
The family's Winery of Napa Valley and the Hoang winery made the June 5 announcement.
The deal includes the winery, tasting room and 13 acres of adjacent vineyards. No wine brands or other properties were affected.
Craig MacLean, chief operating officer and winemaker at Hoang, said the relatively new winery has been producing wine for export since 2012, and wants to establish a U.S. "home for the brand" in Napa Valley.
