The 2012 West Coast Wine Competition announced the winners of the 30th year of the competition. The Best of Show winning wine was Gloria Ferrer Caves & Vineyards 2004 Royal Cuvée, a Méthode Champenoise sparkling wine from Carneros.
Produced by Vineyard & Winery Management, the West Coast Wine Competition is one of the longest-running wine competitions in North America. Judged by a panel of knowledgeable wine professionals and media, the competition celebrates winemaking in the western regions of the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
“The top winners of the West Coast Wine Competition express the diversity and creativity of both the grapes and winemaking achieved in this part of the world,” said Bill Traverso, Director of Wine Competitions for Vineyard & Winery Management. “These are truly world class wines.”
Wines were judged from a field of over 800 entries. Judges awarded a total of 20 Double Gold, 66 Gold, 260 Silver, and 263 Bronze medals. Complete results are now posted on EnofileOnline.com.
