Heineken USA Names Scott Blazek New SVP, SalesMay 20, 2011
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – Heineken USA today announced the appointment of Scott Blazek as the company’s new senior vice president, sales. He will join the company’s management team and report to president and chief executive officer, Dolf van den Brink.
Blazek will take on the position starting July 1, following a four-year tenure as regional vice president, Central Region at Heineken USA. In that role, he was responsible for leading a team of 80 sales and marketing professionals across Heineken’s second largest region in the United States.
Blazek has a strong history of leadership and success in the Heineken USA organization. As a member of the sales leadership team, he executed a central sales reorganization that resulted in an enhanced regional management team. In 2009 and 2010, his region achieved top performer status for both share growth and volume performance. Blazek also helped lead the facilitation of the Cuauhtémoc-Moctezuma integration in the United States after Heineken NV’s acquisition of the company, and was successful at driving Heineken USA’s portfolio strategy in his region.
“Scott’s significant contributions to the sales force and widespread respect among the organization made him the perfect candidate for this position. He brings the right skill set and leadership experience to drive business results for Heineken USA,” said van den Brink. “We are confident in the course we have set. Scott’s appointment will enable this accelerated execution to take place without the distraction of a prolonged transition.”

In his role as senior vice president, sales, and as a member of the company’s senior management team, Blazek is responsible for increasing and maximizing profitable depletions and market share and achieving distribution goals for Heineken USA’s product portfolio through the management of its more than 300-member sales force and its distributor network.

Beyond his work at Heineken USA, Blazek brings a depth of beverage industry experience to his new role. Prior to joining Heineken, Blazek spent ten years at Diageo, where he held positions of increasing responsibility, including director of national trade marketing, on-premise, U.S. spirits. In this role, he was responsible for collaborating with brand and regional marketing teams to improve program effectiveness, growth drivers, and brand and consumer segmentation.
Blazek holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications from Northern Illinois University and a Master of Business Administration from St. Joseph’s University. Blazek is also a graduate of the Executive Leadership and Management Program from INSEAD School of Business in France.
Blazek is an avid sports fan with an affinity for the Chicago Cubs and Notre Dame. He and his wife, along with their three children, will relocate to the New York area.
