The Well is a unique, multi-level restaurant with a rooftop patio that's covered by a tent in the winter and outfitted with cozy fire pits to take away the chill. The second establishment of the Lewellen brothers (Lew's Grill & Bar is just down the street), it is easy to tell that a lot of thought went into making it a place that truly offers something for everyone. A slightly upscale urban feel combined with the casual atmosphere of a neighborhood bar draws a mixed crowd of all ages, from families and singles to business people and locals. Comfortable and friendly, The Well is a great place for all types of gatherings.
The chef-prepared menu includes fresh cod flown in twice weekly, made-to-order pastas, dry-aged rib eye steak, smoked salmon and specialty French Dip sandwiched and hand-cut french fries.
"We choose only the freshest ingredients for our dishes, and we buy locally whenever possible," said Chris Lewellen.
Late-night selections include a variety of munchies, handmade soups and sandwiches. Sundays feature a six-station brunch buffet with omelet and Belgium waffle station and Kansas City's largest Bloody Mary bar.
The well-stocked bar offers 30 beers on tap and a wide selection of vodkas and cocktails. The coldest beer in the world is served from one of the area's only specialized chill chambers for aluminum bottles, cooling them to an optimum temperature of 22 degrees.
Lots of flat-screen TVs and plenty of seating make it an ideal place ot watch the game, and regular live entertainment ensures a great party. Speaking of parties, several areas of the restaurant can be reserved for groups, and a new private space can accommodate up to 90 guests. Ample parking is available in The Well's exclusive lot.
Ask your server about The Well's daily specials. Open for lunch, dinner and late night seven days a week: Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to midnight.
