Located in Manhattan's bustling Flatiron District, Riff Raff's can best be described as harkening back to the exclusivity and crowd of Bungalow 8 and classic NYC hospitality. The first nightlife venture by Michael Stillman of Fourth Wall Restaurants, the group brings its signature service, detailed finishes and superior menu are nothing short of on-point.
Riff Raff’s specializes in tiki service, where oversized libations delight for the over-the-top Polynesian presentations with a cavalcade of rums, tropical juices and tchotchkes of all shapes and sizes, including coconut bras, Etro pocket squares, and Riff Raff’s own customized neon orange Wayfarer sunglasses.
The central component of Riff Raff’s design by AvroKO is comprised of 108 woven tapestries sourced from small villages in Malaysia. The designer travelled to each village to talk with the local craftsmen and check out their wares in order to collect enough pieces to finish the project. In New York, only replicas of these types of tapestries are available. The effect of having so many of the crafted, hand-woven pieces ensconce the space is breathtaking and worth the travel adventure to retrieve them. Golden bubble chandeliers imbue the space with an amber glow that is occasionally accented by sparks of light from gold disco balls that descend late in the evening.
Riff Raff’s renowned DJ program consists of constantly rotating top-tier deejays that play to the crowd, which remains very eclectic and energetic — just like the music. Guest performances by Chromeo, Cut Copy and B-Roc of The Knocks are just a few of the famous names that have graced the venue’s turntables. High profile guests and events have graced the banquets of Riff Raff’s, usually leaving with the signature tribal face paint for which the club is so well known.
