NBWA’s Beer Route Publication Selected as Finalist for National Award
ALEXANDRIA, VA – The National Beer Wholesalers Association (NBWA) Beer Route newsletter has been named a finalist in PR News’ Nonprofit PR Awards competition, which honors the top nonprofit public relations campaigns of the year, the smartest communications initiatives and the people behind them.
NBWA disseminates The Beer Route as a bi-weekly e-newsletter throughout the year and also as special print issues during NBWA’s Annual Convention and Legislative Conference. The Beer Route updates the Association’s membership on the activities and achievements of beer distributors; shares best practices and important news by highlighting the responsibility and community events that distributors regularly sponsor around the country; and provides members with an advocacy tool to educate elected representatives, regulators, community groups, the media and others about the role of beer distributors and their critical function within the state-based, American beer distribution system.
“NBWA’s communications and public affairs team should be commended for their efforts to create interesting and informative collaterals and for their efforts to increase communications with the Association’s membership,” said NBWA President & CEO Craig Purser. “Vice President, Public Affairs Rebecca Spicer and her team work tirelessly to find new ways to engage and educate America’s beer distributors as well as elected officials, policymakers, the media and the public. It’s not always an easy task to make sure people understand the importance of effective state-based alcohol regulation, but NBWA’s public affairs team does a great job creating effective communication tools.”
Other finalists in the publications category of PR News’ Nonprofit PR Awards are publications produced by Danbury Health Systems, Kaiser Permanente and NYU Langone Medical Center. The winners and finalists will be honored on November 3, 2010, at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.
