DENVER – Frank Schultz, owner of Tavern Hospitality Group, was announced as the winner of the Spotlight Award at the LoDo District’s 21st Annual Limelight Awards. The event was held at the Seawall Grand Ballroom on Thursday, March 10th.
Each year the LoDo District honors individuals and businesses who positively affect the LoDo neighborhood. Recipients of the awards made significant contributions over the past year through their work in community service, building development and preservation, marketing and events, service to LoDo District, Inc. and demonstrating themselves as one of the best new businesses.
The Spotlight Award is presented to those who help drive activity in the area through marketing or events. In April of 2010, Schultz unveiled Tavern Downtown’s newly renovated 11,000 square foot rooftop patio which has been recognized by Nightclub & Bar, Wild Blue Yonder and CBS4 to name a few. The effort and quality put into the high-end design elevated the atmosphere, attracted new business and contributed to the improved dynamic of LoDo. Also acknowledged was the Tavern’s marketing campaign featuring aggressive food, drink and sports-related promotions.
After winning the award, Schultz said, “LoDo has gone through ups and downs over the years. I think, through the efforts of everyone in the community, it’s better now than ever with regards to the quality and character of bars and restaurants, increased number of residents and safety of the area. We’re thrilled to be a part of the neighborhood and are excited about its continued positive growth. My mom and stepdad Terry and Al Papay are co-owners of our company and are as much a part of this award as I am.”
