Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar debuted their much-anticipated “Month of Discovery” list for September, which included Fleming’s 100 “Opening Nights,” a series of wine tastings that features all 100 selections on the wine list. Other nights include “Memorable Meal: A Trio of Fleming’s Classics,” where guests try flights of small entrees, the “Exclusive Caymus Interactive Wine Dinner” and “Wine Tuesdays” where guests receive 25 percent off a bottle of wine.
For the second year in a row, Outback Steakhouse was voted the No. 1 Steak in Zagat’s survey of national restaurant chains. Announced on the “Today Show,” more than 6,500 diners participated in the survey that included 136 restaurant chains.
Tommy Bahama Group named Rob Goldberg as its new senior vice president of restaurants. Goldberg will oversee the operations and development of 12 Tommy Bahama restaurants in six states.
Eric Dopkin was named president at Young’s Market Company, California. Dopkin will oversee all of Young’s Market Company business in California; he was formerly vice president of corporate chains. Young’s Market Company also appointed Ray Chadwick as its new Corporate Executive Vice President, Wine. Chadwick will oversee all the wine business at Young’s Market Company and its affiliates. Prior to joining Young’s Market Company, Chadwick was president at Diageo Chateau & Estate Wines.
Dean Serneels joins American Beverage Marketers as its Director — Beverage Applications. Serneels has over 20 years experience in the bartending industry and created Flairco, Inc. He will take part in menu and recipe development, account visits and education and training of American Beverage Marketers’ sales staff.
Heineken USA promoted Colin Westcott-Pitt to Vice President of Marketing for Dos Equis, Newcastle and Amstel Light. Westcott-Pitt is responsible for the overall strategy and development of these brands. He served as Brand Director of Newcastle Brown Ale for Heineken USA since 2009.
Frederic Goossens was appointed Vranken-PommeryAmerica’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing. He’s held the regional sales manager position there since 2009. Goossens will report to Paul Francois Vranken, president of Vranken Pommery Monopole, and he will oversee the sales and marketing tastes for the U.S. and Mexico.

Morton’s The Steakhouse is featuring an interactive wine dinner with the Mondavi family on Oct. 7. The dinner will be broadcast at 54 Morton’s The Steakhouse private dining rooms.
Kelso & Company, a private equity firm, bought Logan’s Roadhouse after LRI Holdings Inc, Logan’s parent company, filed for an initial public offering in order to raise $200 million.
