During the holidays, it’s often hard to find a restaurant, bar or club open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The Scout in Chicago, however, is the exception because it's open on Christmas Eve from 10 a.m. to 3 a.m. with a limited menu available; on Christmas Day, The Scout will have its full menu available from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. and will be showing all NFL games. Seating is open for 200 people, and the restaurant has 34 flat-screen TVs and three private-party areas, as well as two bars.
Lottie’s Pub, also in Chicago, is hosting its Rock and Roll Christmas on Christmas Day beginning at 4 p.m. Guests will enjoy the annual event that offers food and drink specials, including $3.50 Newcastle Brown Ale and $5 Santa Bomb cocktails. Patrons also will be treated to rock 'n' roll Christmas music and can watch the Chicago Bears take on the Green Bay Packers at 7:20 p.m.
On Dec. 3, Boston is hosting its 12 Bars of Christmas bar crawl, which also benefits a good cause. This year, the bar crawl is raising money for the Horizons for Homeless Children charity. For $5, participants receive a name tag and beverage koozie while touring some of Boston's greatest bars.
