Gordon Brothers Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon
Gordon Brothers Family Vineyards released its 2006 Columbia Valley Syrah and 2006 Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. The Syrah, which aged for 24 months, opens with aromas of olive, cocoa powder and tea with hints of lavender, while layers of fig and anise mix with blueberries and cassis. The Cabernet Sauvignon, with aromas of black cherry, smoke and cedar with flavors of currant, dried cherries and black tea, aged for 18 months.

Vinum Conservator VC-R1
A new wine preservation system is on the market after more than two years of development and testing. Vinum Conservator model VC-R1 is an automatic countertop vacuum system. To use, replace a cork with the rubber stopper, then attach the vacuum to the stopper and hold for 1 to 2 seconds. After the preset pressure level is reached, remove the vacuum head and return it to its cradle.
