The Chelsea nightlife scene in NYC is losing Porky’s but gaining The Yard, the newest venture from the Status Group. The grand opening, held Halloween weekend, featured a daytime pub crawl and a Halloween party at the end of New York’s Greenwich Village Halloween Parade. Artist Darren Boerkel created the ambiance in The Yard using images of the South Street Seaport such as the old shipyards, as well as junkyards found around Citifield and a Brooklyn backyard barbecue.

The Gerber Group is opening Whiskey Blue, W Lounge and Red 2 One on Nov. 17 in Santiago, Chile, as part of the group’s longstanding partnership with Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide’s W brand. The two companies have collaborated on 21 projects worldwide over the past 10 years. The three lounges at W Santiago exude a cool, contemporary design that reflects the look, feel and sounds of Chile, using materials that range from glass and chrome to marble and leather. www.starwoodhotels.com/whotels

Next weekend, Pete’s Dueling Piano Bar opens in Las Vegas’ Town Square. Each night, four piano entertainers take the stage in two-person rotations to perform hits from every era on two baby grand pianos, and also will take the stage together. This is the fifth incarnation of Pete’s Dueling Piano Bar (four locations exist in Texas: Austin, Addison, Fort Worth and Houston). www.petesduelingpianobar.com
