Austin, Texas-based Dulce Vida released its first batch of blanco, reposado and anejo tequilas for limited distribution in Austin; plans are to expand to San Antonio this year and other major Texas cities and national markets throughout 2010. Dulce Vida sources its organic agave from the Pacific Coast Highland region of Tepic, Nayarit. The tequilas are 100 proof and are triple distilled and made with single-estate, organic blue agave. The resposado and anejo are aged in single-barrel oak Kentucky Whisky barrels.

Powers 12 Year Old Special Reserve
Powers Gold Label Irish Whiskey unveils Powers 12 Year Old Special Reserve, a pot-still whiskey that retains the classic spicy, honeyed, full-bodied flavor of Powers, enhanced by years of extra aging in select American oak barrels. It is a blend of primarily pot-still and grain whiskey, triple-distilled and age 100 percent for a minimum of 12 years. Powers 12 Year Old Special Reserve will be available in the U.S. in limited quantity beginning in February 2010.

2007 Matchless Red Wine
Walla Walla, Wash.’s Otis Kenyon Wine presents its 2007 Matchless Red Wine, a 70 percent Merlot and 30 percent Cabernet Sauvignon blend. Nearly 800 cases were produced. The blend starts with light cedar notes, black pepper and Bing cherry on the nose; in the mouth, dark fruit components brighten to raspberry and rhubarb pie. The wine label has “singed” edges, alluding to a fire crime that separated the Kenyon family; they were reunited some 50 years later.
