TY KU Invites Consumers to Show Their “Skin” for Summer 2010

New York, NY —TY KU, Premier Asian Wine & Spirits Company, is proud to announce that it is bringing back its hugely successful tattoo model search, “Show Us Your Skin” contest, for summer 2010.  Partnering with Inked Magazine, Tokyo Five and MIP, TY KU invites anyone over 21 years old with a tattoo to submit images of their body artwork and compete to become the new “Skin” of the brand in a national advertising campaign.  The last “Show Us Your Skin” contest received thousands of photo submissions and nearly 500,000 votes.  Celebrity judges (including Ne-Yo, Missy Suicide, Mario Barth, Richie Rich and Dhani Jones) helped to ultimately crown pinup icon, Sabina Kelley, as the Grand Prize Winner. 
 
Now through August 31st, 2010, tattooed contestants can submit images of themselves onto the contest TY KUsite (www.ShowUsYourSkin.com).  Then a panel of celebrity judges, Todd Weinberger (Inked Magazine), Eve Salvail (Supermodel), Jake Brown (Professional Skateboarder), Braylon Edwards (NFL Player), Sabina Kelley (2009 Winner), Friday Jones (Tattoo Artist), Olivia (R&B Artist) and Trey Cyrus (Metro Station), will select their favorite and determine the sixteen finalists. Next, the contest goes into the hands of the voting public to decide on the ultimate Grand Prize Winner and new “Skin” of TY KU.  Consumers can log onto the site once a day to vote for their favorite and view the gallery of contestants.  The ultimate winner will be selected in October and be featured in prominent TY KU advertisements and materials. In addition to gaining national exposure being showcased in TY KU ads, the winner will also received a TY KU party in her honor at the Tattoo shop of her choice and a premium TY KU gift package.
 
In keeping with TY KU’s mantra of ‘Respect Tradition, Embrace Tomorrow,’ the contest website includes educational components about the history, tradition and meaning of tattoos in Japan.  In addition to both print and online advertising, TY KU will be promoting the contest with tastings at liquor stores, bars, restaurants and nightclubs throughout the country.  Model scouting will also be conducted by TY KU at events, tattoo conventions, beaches, pools and bars throughout the country.
