2014 Recipe File: Cocktails with Gin that Will Make Guests Grin

The botanical spirit is made of neutral grains and is the main ingredient to many classic cocktails such as the dry gin martini. Nightclub & Bar has put together a list of gin based cocktails to spur sales at your bar this summer.

½  oz. Campari
2 ½ oz. Gin
1 ½ oz. Grapefruit Juice
Lime Wedge

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.  Add Campari and grapefruit juice and shake well. Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with lime wedge.

Corn Goddess

1 ½ oz. Campari
1 oz. Gin
2 tbsp Fresh Corn Kernels
4 Cherry Tomato Halves

In a mixing glass, muddle corn, tomato halves and gin, add Campari. Shake well with ice and double strain into chilled cocktail glass. Float a sage leaf on top as garnish.

½ oz. Oxley Gin
2 oz. Perfect Purée Cranberry
¼ oz. Perfect Purée Ginger
½ oz. lemon juice
¾ oz. grenadine
2 oz. pineapple juice
1 dash of Angostura Bitters
Orange or lemon twist, for garnish

Lemongrass and Elderflower Collins

2 oz. BOMBAY Sapphire East Gin
¾ oz. Lemon juice
½ oz. St. Germain

Muddle thumbnail lemongrass sliced up. Build all with cubed ice and top with soda.

2 oz. Watershed Gin
½ oz. Izze Sparkling Grapefruit juice
Fresh ruby red grapefruit
, cut to large cubes
Large ruby red grapefruit square, for garnish

Put two or three fruit cubes into the bottom of glass and top with one scoop of ice. Add another layer of fruit and fill the rest of way with ice. Pour in measure of Watershed Gin and refill ice to top as it may have settled. 
Fill to top with Izze Sparkling Grapefruit juice. Garnish with a large ruby red grapefruit square on rim of glass.

Strawberry-Gin Cocktail

2 oz. gin
1 oz. lemon juice
3 oz. chilled club soda
1 strawberry
2 fresh basil leaves
2 tsps. white sugar

Place the strawberry basil leaves, and sugar into a cocktail shaker, and mash well with a cocktail muddler. Add half of the ice to the cocktail shaker, and place the rest into a tall glass. Pour in the gin and lemon juice, cover, and shake until the outside of the shaker has frosted. Strain into the chilled glass over the ice, top with the club soda, and stir to serve.
