3's a Perfect Number
It has always been known that if
something crazy is going on somewhere, something crazier is going on at
Studio 54. This club has set the bar for outrageous behavior and
“all-nighters,” and recently the managing directors of Studio 54, Tabú
and Teatro have done something no one has dared to do before — a little
ménage a tois. “3,” the latest Las Vegas promotion, is dishing out more
partying in 24 hours than most could handle in one weekend. But true to
style, these guys are doing it on Tuesday nights.
“For the past six years, Studio 54 has held Eden,” says Executive
Director Mike Milner. “We opened up Teatro and decided to combine all
of them. One admission gets you in to all three places. It starts at
Studio 54, then Tabú and then Teatro until about 8 or 9 a.m.” The
appeal is tremendous to both locals and tourists. With all three clubs
located in the MGM Grand, and with admission set at only $15, Tuesday
has become the new Friday in Vegas. Teatro holds an average of 165
people and during a “3” promotion night, Milner says 900 might cross
its threshold. The idea is to build a brand name out of Teatro and use
the older sibling Studio 54 as well as the precedent set by Tabú as one
of the first in the ultra-lounge craze. With Ferrari-red leather on all
the furniture and a Champagne bar topped off with dancing women,
Teatro’s décor is entertainment in itself. But, the crowd “3” is
drawing is what makes Milner most happy.
“It’s unbelievable,” he says. “Clubs are only as good as the people in
them and we have had one of the most local, loyal crowds out there."
