Celebrate California Wine Month

September 9, 2013 By: Mary-Kate Dunphy

Wine This month a few of our favorite things are upon us; foliage, pumpkin flavored everything and (that’s right!) California Wine Month! Now, wine enthusiasts do not need an excuse to raise a glass of their favorite wine in celebration; however September marks the beginning of the harvest so why not join in on the festivities.

California Wine Month is a 30 day collection of wine related festivities created by the Wine Institute in 2005 to show appreciation for this elixir and to note of just how much the wine industry contributes to California’s economy.  Over 100 wineries posted wine events for September on the Wine Institute’s website in 2012 and even more are expected this year. Industry professionals throughout the state will celebrate California Wine Month with tastings, wine-related events, grape crushing, concerts and more.

Not everyone can make it out to the Golden State or to the alternative East Coast festivities in NYC, to take advantage of California Wine Month. However, that doesn’t mean that you can’t celebrate with your customers. Throw a special promotion in honor of this wine oriented month; have a tasting, wine dinner pairing or offer special deals each week on your favorite wines!

Don’t let the opportunity to take part in California Wine Month pass you by!
