Mother's Day is for Brunch and Cocktails!
“A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.”
In my mind, Washington Irving could not have been more correct when speaking these words. There are all kinds of love, but nothing quite as strong or unconditional as a mother’s love and this is something to be celebrated. Today is Mother’s Day and it is a day to honor the women who are responsible for 100% of your customers.
Mother’s Day is always on a Sunday, a day that is synonymous with the word ‘brunch’. Think about brunch cocktails to serve such as the ever popular mimosa. In order to have a profitable Mother’s Day provide the wonderful women out there with cocktails they will love; below are a few recipes to keep them coming back every Sunday.
1 oz. Smirnoff No. 21 Vodka
Start with a Pint Glass. Add Smirnoff No. 21 Vodka, tomato juice, red hot sauce, green hot sauce, Worchester sauce, lemon juice, a pinch of salt, pinch of pepper. Pour back and forth between two mixing glasses. Strain into an ice-filled highball glass. Garnish with celery stalk.
533 North Pinckney Cocktail
2 cups fresh pink grapefruit juice (from 2-3 grapefruits)
Combine grapefruit juice, St-Germain, and Campari in a large pitcher. Cover and chill until cold, about 2 hours. Divide grapefruit mixture among glasses and top off with sparkling wine.
Orange Aperol Sun
6 tablespoons Aperol
Place enough ice cubes in each of 6 balloon wineglasses to fill 2/3 full. Add 1 tablespoon Aperol and 1 tablespoon orange juice to each glass. Top off each drink with 1/2 cup Prosecco; garnish with orange slices.
