Celebrate the Cocktail that will Never Leave You "Sour"
The whiskey sour is an ageless drink consisting of whiskey, a dose of sours, and sugar. It is said that this sour cocktail first came around in the 1700’s when sailors would experiment with citrus juices and whiskies. However, its first published mention was in Jerry Thomas’ 1862 book How to Mix Drinks.
The whiskey sour has been brought back to the forefront by popular television shows such as AMC’s Mad Men. It is clear the whiskey sour has withstood the test of time so it's only right it gets its own celebratory day – and it’s August 25th!
