While the origin of this iconic drink is unknown, the martini has earned a special place in the hearts of patrons and bartenders alike. Whether you make yours with gin or vodka, the recipe has been traced all the way back to 1887 and was extremely popular during Prohibition. Because of its elegant taste and seasoned background, the martini is one of the most well-known classic mixed-drinks in the industry. Therefore, it is only right there’s a day to celebrate its success. And that day is today June 19th.
Didn’t know that today was National Martini Day. Well, there’s still time. Take your favorite recipe and write it on your specials board outside your establishment or above the bar. Post a picture on Facebook and Twitter promoting the cocktail and encouraging your customers to stop by.
It’s possible that no other top notch money maker has been sipped as much as the martini. A drink associated with sophistication and power deserves to be recognized so make James Bond and the ladies of Sex in the City proud by serve up some well-crafted martinis.
