Taffer Turns Around 10 Bars

Running a successful bar is both an art and science, and this season on “Bar Rescue,” Spike TV’s wildly successful reality series, NCB Media Group President Jon Taffer had to tackle both aspects to revive the 10 bars he visited. In a mere four days, Taffer and his team of experts assessed each bar from the curb to the kitchen, then overhauled everything from management to operations, from marketing to mixology and from food to furnishings. Change is never easy, whether it’s the name of the bar, the drink menu or the management style. The process often was full of conflict and resistance, but the outcome was always higher revenues and happier guests and employees.
