Can Taffer Save Underworld Grill and Bar From Going Under?October 11, 2013 By: Mary-Kate Dunphy
Underworld Grill and Bar is a failing horror themed bar in Las Vegas. Owners, Kris Kaos and Jazz Bender, have collectively put $150,000 into their bar and are currently losing $2,500 a month. The bar itself looks weathered and the interior is nothing short of tacky. In addition, the bar is severely under stocked and the food horrific.
Throughout the recon, it becomes extremely clear that the owners do not trust their bartenders; Kris hovered over the bar, counted the drawers and counted bottles throughout the shift. In order to be successful Taffer and his team of experts need to mend this distrust between the owners and the staff.
In order to fix all the problems the Underworld has, Taffer and his team conduct extensive training with the owners and staff. The numerous trainings releases tension and created a better understanding for one another. Trust is a huge factor in running a successful business and overcoming this will prove positive for their business.
Keeping with the spooky theme, Taffer transformed Underworld Grill and Bar into a post-apocalyptic bar called The End. He illuminated the outside to draw people in and pulled together the concept inside with spooky yet realistic decorations, unnerving murals of post-apocalyptic Las Vegas and correlating drink and food menus. Five months after the relaunch, sales are up 40% and the staff is working well together.
