‘Bar Rescue’ warns 'Don't Mess With Taffer’s Wife’ on SpikeJuly 8, 2013
On the last night's episode of “Bar Rescue,” creator Jon Taffer went to this once famous blues bar the "Sand Dollar Lounge” to meet with Lisa, the co-owner. With just a few months before the place shut down, Lisa is the only one who seems to care if the place survives. Located just two blocks off the Las Vegas strip, can Jon resurrect this dying bar?
Accompanied by Jan J, a mixologist and Anthony Curtis, a gaming expert, they observed the front of the place. The place had no indication of what they offered; no signs that it was a bar, had gaming, or live music. Nicole Taffer and her friend Erica went in to check the place out. Their drinks were served in plastic cups, and a basic screwdriver was made with cranberry juice instead of orange juice, and the other drink was vile. When they asked for a food menu, they were told they do not serve food there. The co-owner, Paul, who is also a doctor hit on the two women with rude and explicit comments. As Jon watched his beautiful wife being hit on from his car, he finally had enough. Jon went in, and this smart-mouth jerk still did not stop with his wise answers and Jon told him that he was not sure he wanted to save his bar.
The next day, Paul sincerely apologized to Jon and especially to Nicole. He then explained how important Lisa was to him, and how he wanted to business to work for her. Jon saw a different side of Paul, and hopefully Jon can chip away the façade that is part of the downfall of this establishment.
